Assignment Clarification

How to come from an unclear briefing to a clear contract

Those who are consulting or initiating change need to be able to clarify the task precisely: the situation, the people involved, the processes, the opportunities and risks, the possibilities and the limitations. Only then will there be success which lasts.

In this seminar you will train with proven tools to bring clarity into teams or to the tasks of an individual. You will work with your own case studies to strengthen and build confidence in yourself and your colleagues when deciding what measures to take.

Contents

  • Stakeholder Map: Who is involved in a change project and what has to be dealt with
  • Systems analysis and systems model: Systemic tools to clarify the context of the task
  • Timeline: Questions to ask about the history, the motives and intentions
  • Phases of the meeting: A well tested structure for each conversation
  • Hypothesis: Making professional use of them and seeing the function of exceptions
  • Techniques for the conversation: How to keep it flowing, how to acknowledge the client's intention and how to verbalize problematic behavior
  • The client’s role: See clearly where they are and meet them there
  • Say No!: Which are the tasks you have to say no to, and what are the reasons why
  • Contract: Obtain mutual commitment to further the process
