The Spirit of ComTeam
 

As a trainee at ComTeam I had the possibility to get to know all the people working here a little closer. Pretty soon I realized that they are much more connected with each other than I had known so far from other companies and this also has an effect on the clients of ComTeam.

This spirit that is connecting them got my attention.  So at the end of my time as a trainee at ComTeam, I started to look for this specific “spirit of ComTeam” and I did so by talking to the people who are working here.

Quality:  The standard that all assert to is very important, because it helps them all to really give the best to their clients. This does not mean that it is always clear from the beginning what it would mean “to give the best”, but the intention and the willingness to find out through discussion (“flight is not an accepted way of dealing with things…”) brings the possibility to break new ground and to improve all the time. In many companies throughout the world a continuous process improvement (CPI) has been applied as a method during the last years, but here at ComTeam this is not a method but an inherently lived value.

Openness:  The ComForum Hotel is a special place to be. Two houses in a beautiful big park-like garden, in the midst of the very idyllic landscape of the Tegernsee. And also here in the outer appearance you can feel the openness, can feel that it is a place which truly welcomes people.  There is also openness for the ideas of others, and it is precisely this that allows aspiring toward quality. The openness for the ideas of others opens up new possibilities and allows improving what is already good. It allows “taking people as they are, without judging them” and out of this an atmosphere of mutual respect and appreciation is generated which makes one feel comfortable.

Time:  There is a very conscious way of dealing with time here at ComTeam. Well of course, you might think, time is money- especially in the consulting business- and this will be the same at ComTeam... So, I was quite surprised to see how much time there is for people. It is a bit like in a car race: You slow down when it is needed and accelerate when that seems useful. It took a while until I understood that it really takes time to generate quality. The consultants of ComTeam apply in their own work what they recommend to their clients: Time is invested to come into contact with each other, built trust and go into the depth and it is necessary for to open up the view; and also for to take care of oneself, because time is not just money, it is life too.

May be I found the spirit of ComTeam and all that is connected with it. But it is also quite possible that it swiftly disappeared just the very moment when I wanted to catch and label it... But anyway, what I take with me is a really good feeling.
